Apartment Group launches Runa Farm hotel

Apartment Group has opened Runa Farm hotel in Country Durham.

The 30-bedroom hotel, country pub and wedding venue offers a mix of farm rooms, featuring open views and hot tubs, as well as main house rooms.

The original farmhouse, which has six bedrooms that can sleep up to 14 people, a private kitchen, and an open lounge, is available for private hire. Guests can also request a private chef.

Runa Farm also features the Smithy Pub, which is to offer all day British dining.

Local designer Amanda Storey has used rustic timber flooring, traditional fabrics and Ibizan antiques to create a bohemian-inspired venue.

Debrah Dhugga, chief executive of Runa Farm, said: "It was our plan to create an individual and special destination for a 'boho, honest and earthy' experience with the farm and its produce at the very heart.

"The result is a loveable, laid-back, and luxurious County Durham country retreat complete with standout spaces and suites, field-to-fork dining, inviting people to gather, feast, stay, and enjoy every element of its feelgood spirit and endless appeal."

It comes after Apartment Group launched a luxury cabin park at Newton Hall this June.

The Apartment Group employs almost 600 people across its hotel and wedding venues in the north-east, including: Le Petit Château and William de Percy Inn & Creperie in Otterburn, Northumberland; the Palm in Sunderland; and Zarabanda, the Holy Hobo, La Fée, Howlers, Cha Cha Bucci and Nancy's Bordello all in Newcastle.
