He will also oversee the kitchen at sister restaurant and wine bar Montrose in Edinburgh
Bart Stratfold has been appointed executive chef across the Michelin-starred Timberyard in Edinburgh and sister restaurant and wine bar Montrose.
Stratfold joined Timberyard in 2023 as head chef, having spent three years as sous chef at Coombeshead Farm in Cornwall, where he worked closely with Karl Goward.
In a statement on Instagram, the restaurant said of Stratfold’s appointment: “His vision, energy and exceptional craft will guide our kitchens forward — bringing together everything we stand for: provenance, creativity and genuine hospitality.”
Timberyard was opened by the Radford family in 2012 and received its first Michelin star at the 2023 awards.
The restaurant is praised for its culinary ethos centred around “the local, the seasonal and letting the produce speak for itself”.
In January 2024, the team opened Montrose in a former pub in the Abbeyhill area of Edinburgh.
