Berkshire pub and restaurant will switch from an Indian food offer to showcasing local produce

The team behind the Belgian Arms in Holyport, Berkshire is taking over the Beehive in nearby White Waltham.
Tangy Treat had operated the site as Milaanj at the Beehive, a modern Indian pub and restaurant, for the past couple of years since it bought the lease from chef-proprietor Dominic Chapman.
Now the Belgian Arms operators, headed by David Thompson, intend to switch concepts at the Beehive to offer seasonal menus showcasing local produce, served alongside a considered drinks list.
The 20-strong team want to respect and preserve the history of the village pub, which stretches back to 1854, and make it a destination for Sunday roasts, mid-week dining and special occasions.
Operations will be headed by general manager Declan Wilkins, formerly of the Tom Kerridge Group.
The venue will reopen tomorrow, 4 October, for seven days a week service, after having closed as Milaanj at the Beehive on 26 September. The former operators posted on their social media channels: “After nearly two incredible years, it is with heavy hearts that we announce Milaanj at the Beehive will be closing its doors.
“We are so incredibly grateful for every smile, every shared meal, and every memory created within these walls. You welcomed us into your lives, and we cherished every moment of serving you. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our journey so special.
“While this chapter closes, our culinary adventure continues! We will still be offering our bespoke private dining and catering services.”
Thompson and his team have operated the Belgian Arms for the last eight years, gaining an AA Rosette for food and securing a place on the Estrella Damm Top 100 Gastropubs list.
