The current television critic for the Sunday Times takes over from Charlotte Ivers
Camilla Long, the current television critic for the Sunday Times, has been appointed restaurant critic at the Sunday broadsheet newspaper.
The Sunday Times columnist, who was awarded Comment Writer of the Year at the British Journalism Awards in 2022, will be publishing her first restaurant review for the Sunday Times Magazine on 8 February.
Her regular weekly column in the main newspaper will continue as normal.
Long takes over from Charlotte Ivers, who published her final Sunday Times restaurant review last month on the two-Michelin-starred A. Wong in London. Ivers replaced Marina O’Loughlin in late 2023.
Long said: “I’m proud to be taking on what is one of the most important critic roles at the best newspaper in the country. I started my time at the Sunday Times working on the restaurant pages, editing AA Gill. It’s an honour to be back. I look forward to offering an honest and insightful view of a fascinating and ever changing industry.”
Ben Taylor, editor of the Sunday Times, added: “Camilla Long is unique as a writer: piercingly honest, funny and original. She is one of the most distinctive voices at the paper; sharp in her judgement and fearless in her opinions. This is the perfect moment for her to be taking on such an exciting new role.”
