Cheval Collection receives green light for Glasgow-based serviced apartment

Cheval Collection has secured planning permission for a 70-unit serviced apartment in Glasgow, which is due to open in 2026.

Plans for Cheval Maison – West Regent were first announced in May 2022, with an initial opening date slated for 2024.

The property, which sits in Blythswood Hill, will offer 27 standard studios, 15 large studios, 23 one-bedroom apartments and five two-bedroom apartments alongside a ground-floor restaurant, gym, lounge area and rooftop terrace bar.

It will be operated under a management agreement with owner 141WRS.

Mohammed Alawadhi, managing director at Cheval Collection, said: "It is wonderful to see this site moving forwards with the support of Glasgow city council and we look forward to contributing to the regeneration of this historic area.

"We are seeing growing demand for serviced apartments around the world in other dynamic cities as owners seek experienced operators for this flexible and profitable model."

Simon Mullen, managing director at 141WRS, added: "We are excited to be making progress on this development, which we hope will transform a disused space to reinvigorate a prominent corner of the city centre.

"Once open, we will draw on Cheval Collection's decades of experience in serviced apartments to attract both international guests and the local community."

Cheval Collection currently operates nine sites across London, three in Edinburgh and one in Dubai. Further properties are in the pipeline for 2024.
