Jeremy King hints at a return to hotels

Jeremy King has revealed he would "love to repeat" the Beaumont hotel in London's Mayfair if the right opportunity arises.

The esteemed restaurateur of the Corbin & King restaurants, including the Wolseley, Bellanger and Brasserie Zédel, opened the five-AA-star, 73-bedroom property with business partner Chris Corbin in 2014.

In 2018, the duo relinquished the management contract of their first hotel following the sale of the property to the Barclay Brothers.

King told The Caterer: "I immensely enjoyed creating the Beaumont and making it a success [and] would love to repeat and develop that."

Although he does not have any immediate plans for hotels "as such as yet", he added he has an "ideal collaborator" in mind if he "finds the right opportunity".

It comes after King told The Telegraph he has "unfinished business" with hotels, which he described as "the ultimate expression of hospitality".

In the immediate term, he will be sticking with the restaurant scene with the launch of the Park in west London next spring.

The Financial Times also reported that King has two further restaurants in London's West End that are at an "advanced" stage.

It comes after he was controversially ousted from restaurant group Corbin & King in April last year after a battle for control with Thai hotel group Minor International, which has since rebranded the business as the Wolseley Hospitality Group.
