Jeremy King to return to London hospitality scene with 2024 opening the Park

Esteemed restaurateur Jeremy King has revealed plans to open the Park, a grand café and brasserie in west London in spring 2024.

One of the most respected figures in the London hospitality industry, King founded the Corbin & King restaurant group with his business partner Chris Corbin in 1981 and ran some of the capital's most beloved restaurants including the Wolseley and Brasserie Zedel.

He was controversially ousted from the company last year after a battle for control with Thai hotel group Minor International, which has since rebranded the business as the Wolseley Hospitality Group.

In an update shared today (10 July), King, who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 Cateys, said: "At heart I am a restaurateur and hotelier so I have held off from troubling you until I had something confirmed and signed to talk about.

"This comes in the form of a new restaurant I have signed a lease on which sits in the new Park Modern building by Fenton Whelan on the corner of Bayswater Road and Queensway."

King said the Park would take its influence from Europe's grand cafes and brasseries, but be very much of the early 21st century rather than the 20th century, the period which influenced many of his earlier projects.

Excitingly, King has said The Park will not be his only opening, hinting at a planned return to the West End.

He added: "Oh, how I have missed you. It has been a long time but hopefully you will experience the benefits of my enforced sojourn and what I have learnt in my time away. I am determined to be a better restaurateur, employer and friend - and I look forward to seeing you."

King also joined the Jamie Oliver Group in a non-executive director advisory role across the wider business earlier this year.
