Here’s all the latest hospitality venues set to launch across the UK in April 2025
The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and April is bursting with fresh openings across hospitality. We can tuck into new talent at the latest food halls from trusted operators like Kerb or Boxpark or submerge ourselves in seafood-themed fine dining by chef Tom Brown at the Capital hotel in London.
Towards the end of the month, Claude and Lucy Bosi are returning with a second iteration of Josephine, their hit French bistro, while fans of the Baring in London’s Islington can look forward to the Kerfield Arms, which is taking over a pub south of the river.

The 96-cover restaurant (76 indoors, 20 outdoors) has been designed by Nina Woodcroft, who was also behind the interiors for Silo in London’s Hackney.

The team behind the Michelin-starred Casa Fofó in London’s Hackney has launched a more casual wine bar and restaurant in London’s Stoke Newington. Bianca’s is a nod to traditional Italian osterias and even includes an in-house charcuterie room and a 100-strong wine list.

Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts has launched its second hotel in Northern Ireland, the Portrush Adelphi, in time for the 153rd Open Championship. The 34-room hotel features Italian restaurant the Red Sail Room alongside mahogany herringbone floors, an open fireplace, tartan upholstery and cable knit throws.

Goose + Berry’s first standalone restaurant has opened at London’s Liberty department store with head chef Joe Holness, formerly of the two-Michelin-starred Da Terra, and head pastry chef Lizzie Ross. Seventy Five at Liberty offers brunch, afternoon tea, and a selection of small plates set to burgundy, pink and green interiors.

Credit: @adashandasplashNorth American burger joint Black Tap has launched its flagship London store in Soho, almost ten years after husband and wife founders Chris Barish and Julie Mulligan opened their first 15-seat location in New York’s SoHo. The 164-cover, 5,000 sq ft site spreads across two floors and features graffiti-covered walls by artist Bradley Theodore.

Tom Kemble, formerly head chef at the Michelin-starred Bonhams and the Pass at South Lodge, is set to launch a New York pizzeria in London’s Borough. He started Spring Street Pizza as a lockdown project with his wife, Tessa, during which he perfected the biga dough made from an Italian pre-fermentation technique.

The team behind Bayte in St Leonards-on-Sea are set to launch modern European restaurant Coquina at Hastings Contemporary. Founders Ruby Boglione and Silvy Pilkigton have teamed up with head chef Wil Hopson (formerly of Carousel, Kricket and Moro) to showcase South Coast produce with a Spanish twist. Boglione will also ensure there are plentiful vegetarian and vegan options, as she herself is vegetarian.

Italian restaurant Lina Stores is opening its first regional outpost in Manchester this month, complete with Bar Lina and its signature delicatessen, which dates back 80 years. The 150-cover site will also serve breakfast sandwiches such as porchetta with salsa verde alongside its usual offer of antipasti and secondi dishes for lunch and dinner.

The team behind the Baring in London’s Islington is opening a new gastropub south of the river in Camberwell. Founders Adam Symonds and Rob Tecwyn have partnered with chef Jay Styler, who has also been at the Baring since its launch in 2022, to lead the Kerfield Arms. Food will be paired to eight keg beers form independent breweries and a selection of natural wines.

Alex Cooper and Anna Andriienko are set to launch Ukrainian restaurant Tatar Bunar in east London with head chef Kate Tkachuk. The menu draws inspiration from Cooper’s hometown of Tatarbunary in southern Ukraine, while the space has been designed by I am Design studio using reclaimed wood and Bulgarian stone.

Reem Abu Samra’s small batch bakery has launched its first bricks-and-mortar site in London’s Chelsea. Reemies was founded on the joys of home baking and became renowned for its signature baked in a bundt banana cake, which gives it its gold crust.

Chef Tom Brown will be returning to the Capital hotel where he first made a name for himself as head chef at Outlaw’s to open a flagship 28-cover seafood restaurant. Brown, who also runs the Pearly Queen oyster bar and seafood restaurant in London’s Shoreditch, will be serving tasting menus for both lunch and dinner.

Claude and Lucy Bosi will open the doors to their second Josephine in the former site of Daylesford Organic in London’s Marylebone. The Parisian bistro will offer everything from breakfast to dinner and feature a 16-seater al fresco dining area. It will even have a dedicated PDT (pommes de terre) menu for all things potato.

Kerb has launched its third food hall, Corner Corner, in London’s Canada Water in partnership with Broadwick, the owners of famed London music venues Drumsheds and Printworks. Traders include Chick’n’Sours, Masa Tacos and Jou Jou’s Bites.

Boxpark’s sister brand Boxhall City is making its debut in London’s Liverpool Street. Club Mexicana and Gaucho are among the 13 food and drink traders joining the line-up. Its dedicated kitchen space, Kitchen No 8, will also welcome James Cochran (recently of the Brave pub in London’s Islington) as one of its chefs-in-residence later this year.
