Chefs Adam Handling, Aiden Byrne and Tom Kerridge all had sites added to the guide’s listings in October
The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland has added 24 new restaurants to its online listings this month.
The guide updates its recommendations each month based on its inspectors’ travels, with any additions highlighted by a ‘New’ symbol.
It will not be confirmed if any of the restaurants will receive a further star, Bib Gourmand, or other award until the launch of the 2026 guide in Dublin next February.
New additions include chef Aiden Byrne’s Li-Ly fine dining restaurant, which he launched with his wife Sarah in Knutsford (pictured above with Aiden) last year after crowdfunding nearly £30,000.
Michelin praised Li-Ly for its “eye-catchingly presented” tasting menu, including cured scallop with golden beetroot and white current, which sees some dishes delivered by Byrne himself.
Adam Handling’s relaunched Ugly Butterfly restaurant in Newquay also made the list after relocating from Carbis Bay to the Headland hotel in June. The chef previously said he was “gunning for a Michelin star” for the venue, which aims to reduce waste by using offcuts in drinks, snacks and post-meal sweets.
In London, there was recognition for Tom Kerridge’s the Chalk in Chelsea. Formerly the site of the chef’s Butcher’s Tap and Grill, it relaunched as a British gastropub in June under Acorn award-winner Tom De Keyser, who previously headed up the kitchens at the two-Michelin-starred Hand and Flowers in Marlow.
There were also two new additions in the Edinburgh suburb of Leith, including tiny six-table tasting menu restaurant Dùthchas and chef Barry Bryson’s first solo venture Barry Fish, which has already won a swathe of positive national reviews for its menu of fish and shellfish.
The only Welsh addition was the Bryntirion Inn gastropub in Bala, which opened in May following a £1m investment by the owners of the nearby of the Palé Hall Estate.
In Ireland there was recognition for Dublin’s Amai by Viktor, which merges Brazilian flavours with Irish produce, and the Pullman in Galway, which is set within two restored Orient Express train carriages.
Michelin will host the live launch of its local 2026 guide in Ireland for the first time next year.
