New Midlands depot will phase in deliveries starting from this summer

Wholesaler Bidfood has opened a depot in Worcester and will be phasing in deliveries from this summer until later in the year.
Located on the Worcester Six Business Park, the site offers transport links to the Midlands region and is serving the local communities by providing around 200 new jobs.
The new modern depot covers 60,000 sq ft and its additional capacity should also support growing customer demand in and around the Birmingham area.
Mark Wood, chief operating officer at Bidfood, said: “Worcester will provide an outstanding addition to our already strong depot network. The introduction of yet another new depot continues to emphasise the importance that we place on long-term investment in our infrastructure.
“Following record volumes of items handled by the Bidfood network recently, the addition of this new depot will further enhance our ability to provide our customers with service excellence and ultimately place us closer to them.”
The wholesaler also confirmed the development of a 28th depot, located in Durham and expecting to open some time in summer 2026.
Bidfood recently enhanced its industry support platform Unlock Your Menu to provide practical tools on topics such as menu engineering and food waste.
The firm retained its Royal Warrant in December 2024, and its executive director, Andy Kemp, triumphed as the Outstanding Supplier Personality in The Caterer’s Supplier Awards 2025.
