The 102-bedroom hotel is due to open in spring 2026 in partnership with Reuben Brothers
Etienne Haro has been appointed managing director of the upcoming Cambridge House, which will mark Auberge Resorts Collection’s first UK hotel.
In July last year, the California-based hotel and resort company announced it would manage the former Military Club in London’s Mayfair, with an opening date initially set for late 2025. The 102-bedroom hotel is now scheduled to launch in spring 2026.
It comes after property tycoons Simon and David Reuben bought the Grade I-listed property alongside six of its surrounding buildings, known as the Piccadilly Estate, for £130m in 2011.
In December 2017, the pair received planning permission from Westminster City Council to develop the former gentlemen’s club and Georgian mansion on 94 Piccadilly into a hotel.
Haro joins the soon-to-open property from the Mark hotel in New York City, where he was general manager. Haro, a native of France, has also held leadership roles across the Burj Al Arab in Dubai and La Mamounia in Marrakech.
Mo Elbanna, executive vice-president of global operations at the Auberge Resorts Collection, said: “We are delighted to welcome Etienne to Cambridge House. With a distinguished career spanning some of the world’s most renowned hotels, Etienne brings not only deep global expertise, but also an intuitive, guest-centric approach to leadership. His commitment to excellence and establishing Cambridge House as a vibrant part of the city’s cultural landscape and social fabric makes him the perfect fit to lead Auberge’s newest chapter in London.”
Haro added: “It is an immense honour to be appointed as managing director of Cambridge House and lead this significant landmark into its next chapter, turning a storied home of great pedigree into a wonderful ground for distinctive experiences. What Reuben Brothers have envisioned is fascinating, and with the deep sense of purpose of Auberge Resorts Collection, it will become a catalyst for creativity, connection and lasting memories.”
Once open, the property will offer 102 rooms, a private members’ club, a Georgian-era ballroom, an open-air jasmine courtyard, a brasserie and a double-level spa, complete with hydrotherapy facilities, two heated swimming pools, seven treatment rooms and a gym.
Auberge Resorts Collection was founded in 1981 and has since grown its portfolio to 28 hotels and resorts, most of which are located in North America.
