The workplace caterer also launched its own coffee brand, Bloom Coffee Club

Contract caterer Eurest has launched in-house coffee roasting at its client sites as it bolsters its coffee programme.
Eurest installed its first coffee roaster at the Royal Mail base in London’s Farringdon, making it the UK’s first contract caterer to introduce Bellwether Coffee electric roasters to a workplace.
The foodservice firm is looking to roll this out to other client sites throughout the year to roast high-quality coffee on demand from unroasted green coffee beans.
It comes as Eurest launched its own coffee brand, Bloom Coffee Club, in addition to new espresso blend Dulima, crafted from equal parts Brazilian and Colombian coffee beans.
Sarah Bartolo, marketing manager at Eurest, said: “As opposed to roasting beans in bulk, we’ll only be roasting as much as our client needs – and unroasted green coffee beans have a longer shelf life than ground coffee, so this will help to reduce waste too. It’s also the freshest way to serve coffee – minimising the time from bean to cup, which results in a richer aroma and more complex flavours.
“Bringing roasting in-house will be educational for our teams and clients to learn about the process, as well as providing a more sensory experience while customers wait for their morning coffee.”
Emma Best, operations director at Eurest, added: “This is a truly unique offering for our clients, providing high-quality coffee on demand.
“We’re delighted to introduce in-house roasting and our new espresso blend at Royal Mail first, where we have refurbished the coffee bar and installed new machines under our Bloom Coffee Club brand.”
Eurest, which stands for European Restaurants, dates back to 1970, when it was founded in Europe as a partnership between a food business and a luxury travel operator. Since becoming a Compass-owned brand in 1995, it has continued to supply workplaces across all industries.
