The caterer will oversee operations at modern British restaurant Cleaver & Wake, as well as Binks Yard, which hosts a programme of live events
Rhubarb Hospitality Collection (RHC) has been appointed catering and events partner at Nottingham’s 36-acre mixed use development, the Island Quarter.
Investor Conygar purchased the site in 2016, which has been undergoing a phased opening since 2022, with a completion date set for 2030.
The Island Quarter is already home to two restaurants, a 200-capacity events hall, outdoor stage and 1,000-capacity canal-side courtyard.
In 2021, it was also reported the development will feature two IHG properties operating under the Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites brands.
The project aims to deliver 10 hospitality outlets, 1,600 new homes and 6,000 office jobs.
RHC will be responsible for modern British restaurant Cleaver & Wake; the venue’s dedicated events space; and outdoor terrace Binks Yard, which hosts a programme of live events.
Christopher Ware, managing director at Conygar, said: “With Nottingham’s dining and events scene rapidly evolving, the appointment of RHC marks a key step in driving ambitious growth plans across the Island Quarter’s venues.
“It’s a natural progression for us to elevate our offering by appointing an operator, and RHC’s experience is unparalleled. I look forward to working with the team to continue to bring our vision for the wider Island Quarter to life and provide a range of experiences for people in Nottinghamshire and beyond.”
PB Jacobse, chief executive at RHC, added: “We are looking forward to evolving and developing the hospitality offering at Island Quarter, reaffirming it as Nottingham’s premier destination for dining, entertainment and events. We’re delighted to be working with Conygar and the existing team and look forward to announcing some new projects for Island Quarter.”
RHC is an international hospitality group specialising in luxury event catering and venue management across London, New York City, the Hamptons and Berlin.
In June 2023, RHC was acquired by US stadium operator Oak View Group. It has since been listed as an accredited caterer at over 60 venues, delivering over 1,500 luxury events each year.
The portfolio ranges from the Royal Albert Hall in London to the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and most recently at student accommodation Chapter London Bridge.
