Today The Caterer launches a campaign to celebrate hospitality. This unashamedly feel-good campaign will emphasise why it is so great to be working in the sector, as well as highlight the great work hospitality does for communities across the UK.

The This is Hospitality campaign, run in partnership with Compass Group UK & Ireland, will collect all the positive strands of hospitality businesses across the UK to paint a picture of life in the sector from the point of view of those working in hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars and contract catering businesses.

As the sector struggles under the weight of rising input costs and a huge tax burden, this multimedia campaign will be the antidote to that gloom, showcasing what makes hospitality such a unique sector in which to work.

We’ll speak to those who love working in hospitality, highlighting what a rewarding career it is for so many in the country. From kitchen porters to chief executives, housekeepers to revenue managers, we will shine a spotlight on the role models who go about their jobs with real passion, delivering for guests, day in day out.

We will also share the stories of hospitality’s unsung heroes, those who are engaging their community and working as a force for good in their local economy.

At its heart, hospitality is about human connection and interaction. In a world where we are increasingly replacing real interaction with technology, hospitality stands apart as a place for people to gather in person and engage in a meaningful way.

Hotels, restaurants and pubs host our daily rituals, as well as some of the most significant moments in our lives. They are a place of refuge and relaxation, providing the space for gatherings, from gardening clubs to support groups. Hospitality venues play a vital role in facilitating personal interactions and maintaining social bonds, which is why being a part of such a meaningful sector is so fulfilling.

The hospitality workforce is rightly proud of its place in people’s lives. We will emphasise why the sector continues to be the place to work and build careers, bringing back the feel-good factor to hospitality by sharing positive stories from across the country.

With so many hotels, restaurants and pubs either closing down or under pressure, we will emphasise why hospitality remains at the heart of local communities and is so rewarding for those working within it. Join us as we shout This is Hospitality.

We will work to:

  • Demonstrate why it is so rewarding working in hospitality
  • Determine how hospitality businesses are a cornerstone of their local communities
  • Provide a platform for you to share your experience of working in hospitality through our digital and social channels
