Bradford-based food wholesaler will join Ritter Courivaud, Town & Country Fine Foods and Italicatessen UK in Musgrave’s portfolio
Cork-headquartered food and drink wholesaler Musgrave Group has acquired Bradford-based company, Delifresh.
The English firm has operations spanning from London to Newcastle, providing whole and prepared fruit and vegetables and chilled products.
The buyout is aimed at strengthening Musgrave’s position in the British foodservice sector, following previous acquisitions of Ritter Courivaud, Town & Country Fine Foods and Italicatessen UK – ingredients suppliers to chefs, restaurants and hospitality businesses across the UK.
Following the acquisition, Delifresh will continue to operate as a standalone business.
Stuart Campbell, managing director for Musgrave Group in Great Britain, said: “By bringing Delifresh into the Musgrave Group, we are adding a strong player in the fresh, chilled and speciality products space to our portfolio. This acquisition aligns with our intent to capture more market share in the premium and high-quality food sectors, as we continue to enhance our product range and geographical reach to meet growing customer demand.
“I look forward to working with the leadership team at Delifresh to explore ways for the business to grow while continuing to provide their existing customers with the excellent customer service and quality products they are accustomed to.”
Family-owned Musgrave Group supports in excess of 41,000 jobs across more than 1,000 stores, offices and distribution centres. The group also has operations in both the food retail and wholesale sectors in Spain.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
