Elior UK wins James Hutton Institute contract

Elior UK has secured a catering and cleaning contract with the James Hutton Institute in Scotland for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see the contract caterer provide services for the research organisation's two sites in Invergowrie near Dundee and Craigiebuckler in Aberdeen.

The Hutton conducts research on crops, soil and land use to improve environmental security.

Elior's 37-strong team, consisting of chef managers, chefs, and catering and cleaning assistants, will serve more than 500 Hutton employees.

The Invergowrie site will also be home to a new restaurant launch this summer, which will create further opportunities for guest kitchen events and pop-ups.

Ian Hadden, facilities manager at the Hutton, said: "We are excited to be collaborating with Elior as our new partner for all things catering and cleaning. We were impressed by the quality of Elior's proposal and the technical solutions on offer.

"As we welcome the infrastructure development at both our campuses, we look forward to developing our contract with Elior. As our relationship continues, we will be exploring the potential for more formal hospitality as well as developing the catering options for everyone on site."

Calum McLaren, regional managing director of Elior UK, added: "The James Hutton Institute is exactly the type of organisation we love to work with. An institution that is working towards positive change for the planet aligns fully with our aims and CSR objectives. We are working together to create a contact that can adapt and grow to meet the Institute's needs as it expands, whilst enabling the best service provision."

Elior UK is part of Elior Group, which generates annual revenues of £5b.
