Alcohol-free cocktail brand Mavrik to feature on CrossCountry's drinks menu

Alcohol-free cocktail brand Mavrik will now be featured on train operator CrossCountry's drinks menu.

The Hampshire-based alcohol-free cocktail brand has signed a deal worth an undisclosed amount to supply train network CrossCountry with its canned Cuban Mojito.

The train service operates a fleet of 92 trains running three hundred train journeys every day connecting cities across the country, including Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff, and Edinburgh.

While people often enjoy a tipple on the train, demand for more alcohol-free options is rising; according to a survey this year by the IWSR, half of the UK adult population bought a no or low alcohol drink last year.

Andrew Mallinson, director at Mavrik, said, the deal "represents exposure to a significant number of passengers having the chance to enhance their travel experience by enjoying a refreshing Cuban Mojito".

He added: "There's a real surge of interest in alcohol-free drinks, with many people seeking a virgin alternative to their favourite alcoholic beverage for a variety of reasons.

"Our all natural, low calorie ready-to-drink cans are an easy swap with zero compromise on taste, so they are perfect for those looking to unwind after a long day at work or for those who just want an appetising and flavoursome drink whilst they travel."

Including its Cuban Mojito, Mavrik produces a range of canned cocktails in six flavours including Venetian Spritz, Passion Star Martini and Espresso Martini.
