Lucky Onion Group opens third pub
The Lucky Onion Group, owned by Sam and Georgie Pearman, has opened its third pub, the Chequers in Churchill, Oxfordshire.
Lucky Onion already operates the Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach, and the Tavern in Cheltenham.
The Chequers, which is close to Chipping Norton and Kingham, will serve rustic food and craft beers.
Sam Pearman trained in London at Mayfair's Langans Brasserie and went on to work in a front of house role at the Michelin starred Glasshouse in Kew. He then went on to consult at the Kingham Plough during its first year of trading.
Georgie Pearman worked as a corporate lawyer for over 10 years in the City of London.
The pair moved back to Gloucestershire six years ago and opened the Royal Well Tavern in Cheltenham before buying the Wheatsheaf Inn in March 2011 and giving it a complete refurbishment.
Antony Ely, Executive Chef of The Lucky Onion Group will oversee the menu at The Chequers. Ely worked at the Mirabelle in Mayfair and after two years joined the Square, where he spent five years, rising to senior sous chef. He then worked at the Clarence hotel in Dublin as executive chef before moving to the Wheatsheaf since April 2011.
