A superior style of French Chardonnay
Some may scoff at its almost universal use, but when it is well made, Chardonnay deserves its popularity.
James Herrick Chardonnay may sound as though it comes from an English-speaking New World country but it is, in fact, made in the Languedoc in the South-west of France.
The wine is restrained, balanced and fresh. It is French in style and superior to most of that at the same price in Burgundy, even in Mâcon.
The grapes are a blend from three different vineyard sites in the region of Narbonne.
The wine is shipped by A H Wines (0935 850116) and has a trade price of around £53 a case.
