AA award winners
Last month's Restaurant Show at Olympia saw the AA award its 1995 four and five rosettes to those who have shown excellent and outstanding standards of cuisine with service and wine.
New recipients of the four AA rosette award were: Martin Blunos, chef-proprietor at Restaurant Lettonie in Bristol; Michael Caines, head chef at Gidleigh Park in Chagford, Devon; Philip Britten, head chef at London's Capital hotel; and Richard Corrigan, formerly head chef at Fulham Road Restaurant, London.
Those elevated to five AA rosettes were: John Burton-Race, chef-proprietor of L'Ortolan in Shinfield, Berkshire; Raymond Blanc, chef-proprietor of Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Great Milton, Oxfordshire; Michel Roux, chef-proprietor of the Waterside Inn, Bray. And in London: Jean-Christophe Novelli, head chef at the Four Seasons's restaurant; Joel Antunäs, head chef at Les Saveurs; Marco Pierre White, head chef at The Restaurant; Pierre Koffmann, chef-proprietor of La Tante Claire; Michel Roux (junior), head chef at Le Gavroche; and Nico Ladenis, chef-proprietor of Nico at Ninety.
The new award winners will be included in the AA's Best Restaurants in Britain 1996 guide, published on 20 November.
