Astron hotels to fly NH flag

NH Hoteles, the stock market-listed Spanish group, is to spend €8m (£5m) on re-branding the 54 hotels it bought from Astron Hotels in February.

The project, which is expected to take eight months to complete, is designed to give NH greater returns by concentrating its efforts in a single brand.

The Astron deal has strengthened NH's position in central Europe, giving it 8,300 rooms in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Re-branding the hotels gives the NH name a presence for the first time in Austria.

NH has 238 hotels in 17 countries in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
