BGR confirms sales talks

BGR restaurants has confirmed that it is in talks with a private consortium interested in buying its upmarket restaurants.

The directors of BGR thought the price "would be attractive to shareholders" but added that it was too early to say whether the approach would lead to a sale.

BGR's upmarket restaurants comprise Bank and Zander, both in London, and another Bank, in Birmingham.

The consortium interested in buying them is made up of several small private investors, including former stockbroker Leigh Collins.
