Bistro-style hospital diner

The catering management team of the 947-bed Southern General Hospital Glasgow wanted a bistro-style relaxing dining area when the main dining room had to be replaced after significant fire damage last year. Called Clyde Cafe, the new restaurant serves patients, visitors, hospital staff and contractors from a new curved counter chosen for its looks and its flexibility. Certain areas can be shut down during quiet periods while still providing main meal choices throughout the day.

Factors which helped achieve visual impact include undercounter lighting, blue Corian tops, polished gantries with toughened glass and the use of drop-in foodservice modules from Victor's Synergy range in both heated and refrigerated sections.

Synergy units are self contained and available in up to five sizes for straightforward installation.
