The infamous Blind Beggar pub on Whitechapel Road in London's East End is on the market as part of a package of 14 leasehold public houses being sold on behalf of the administrators of Corporate Catering Company.

The Blind Beggar gained notoriety after gangster Ronnie Kray, one of the Kray twins, shot to death George Cornell of rival gang the Richardsons on the premises in 1966. Legend has it that the scene was played out whil the Walker Brothers' hit The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore was playing on the jukebox. The traditional East End community pub takes its name from the Blind Beggar of Bethnal Green, Henry de Montfort, who used to beg in the area in the 13th century. Features include a beer garden and conservatory, a trade kitchen and five-bedroom owners' accommodation. Turnover for the nine-month period April 2003 to January 2004 was £322,260 net.
