Bomb kills McDonald's manager

The manager of a McDonald's restaurant in France was killed yesterday after a bomb exploded, close to its drive-through sales window.

The explosion at McDonald's in Dinan, Brittany is the second attack at the restaurant within two months.

Last month the restaurant was sprayed with gunfire in an overnight attack, in this incident no one was hurt.

Police believe a group called the Breton Revolutionary Army may be responsible. The group has claimed responsibility for attacks over the last two years but these have been directed at government buildings. It is believed the group may be using McDonald's to attract greater publicity.

A spokesman for the restaurant said that it remained closed while police continued their investigations. He said that no other staff were injured but that some were receiving help from a specialist for psychological effects.
