Botsworth ash log

Goats' milk is in full flow at this time of year, and one result is Bosworth Ash Log, a soft, slightly creamy unpasteurised goats' cheese from a farm near Tamworth, Staffordshire. The cheese is coated in salted ash - following the tradition of using ash from vineyards after the end of the grape harvest - and is decorated with a sprig of rosemary. Premier, which supplies the cheese, describes it as mild with a hint of earthiness and rosemary.

Price About £4.81 each, according to weight (180-200g)
