Brackenbury sold to Smallwood and Slater

The Brackenbury restaurant in west London has been bought by Nick Smallwood and Simon Slater, the owners of Kensington Place and Launceston Place.

Mr Smallwood and Mr Slater jumped in to buy the restaurant, one of their favourites, when the sale to former head chef Angela Dwyer fell through.

The 50-seat restaurant cost £150,000 to buy and has been entirely refurbished with a new kitchen in just a week at a cost of £90,000. Garrett O'Brien and Marcia Chang-Hong will jointly head the kitchen.

The new management plans to stick to the restaurant's formula of innovative food at bargain prices. Average spend per head is expected to be £20 for dinner.
