Breare makes bid approach to W&D

Noble House, the company set up in June to target acquisitions in the pub and restaurant market, is to make an approach to Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries about a possible cash takeover.

The new company, headed by Robert Breare and backed by venture capital firm Botts & Co, is seeking a meeting with Wolverhampton & Dudley to discuss the potential deal.

Wolverhampton & Dudley said it had not received a formal approach and was therefore unable to comment.

Noble House bought pub-restaurant operator Taipan Taverns in June and is trying to buy ten Fatty Arbuckles diners out of receivership.

It is also thought to be behind a takeover approach made to London-based Oriental Restaurants.
