Cadogan joins the Gardner Merchant fold
Gardner Merchant (GM) has bought Surrey-based Cadogan Catering to add to its leisure catering portfolio.
Cadogan, bought for an undisclosed amount, employs 240 staff and turns over some £4m a year. Contracts include the Royal Horticultural Society's gardens at Wisley, Surrey, and Wakehurst Place Gardens in West Sussex.
It also runs a bakery at Wisley, which GM will now use to supply other contracts.
A GM spokesman said the leisure division was keen to beef up its presence at year-round visitor attractions. Purchasing and accounting would be integrated, but no job losses were expected.
