Restaurants failing faster
THE pace of restaurant business failures appears to have quickened, in contrast to collapses of hotel and pub businesses.
The number of restaurants that went into administration or receivership in the 12 months to June 1997 was 20, compared with only 12 for the 1996 calendar year.
Hotels registered 29 business failures in the year to June, down from 33 in 1996. Figures for the pub trade were even more static - 36 in the year to June against 37 in 1996.
