A major architectural competition is planned to decide on a use for the former Midland Grand Hotel in St Pancras, London, which has lain empty since the mid-1980s. The competition is being staged by London and Continental Railways, which inherited the building following its successful bid for the Channel Tunnel rail link project. A museum or international exhibition centre are among possible uses for the recently restored Victorian building, which has attracted the interest of architecutural luminaries such as Norman Foster and Richard Rogers
