Caterer and Hotelkeeper – 22711

Three former staff from Turner's restaurant in London's Walton Street plan to take Parson's Green by storm with their first foray into restaurant ownership.

The team - Alan Thompson, head chef, his wife Georgina Thompson, also a chef, and restaurant manager Richard Fletcher - all met at Brian Turner's restaurant several years ago.

They hope their restaurant, which opened this week, will provide a competitive alternative to branded restaurant chains in the same area of west London and intend to offer quality food at similar if not lower prices.

The 40-seat venue, christened 755 Fulham Road, will serve a modern British menu. At lunch, two courses will cost £10 and three will cost £12. A la carte prices will range from £22 to £25 and a fixed-price dinner menu is available for £18.

The owners have private backers for the restaurant venture and have spent £100,000 refitting the site, which was formerly a French restaurant, Fleurie. By Christmas the restaurant will also offer a private dining room downstairs, which will seat 40.
