Greenalls to open 27th budget lodge

Premier House, the managed pubs division of the Greenalls Group, has acquired the 29-bedroom Twigworth Lodge near Gloucester. The site is being evaluated for conversion into a Premier Lodge and a Millers Kitchen pub-restaurant.

Acquiring and altering what would be the 27th branded lodge in the Greenalls portfolio will cost an estimated £2m. The property was sold by private owners through property agent Christie & Co.

Other recent additions to the Premier Lodge portfolio include the Jenny Dee's pub in Halifax, West Yorkshire, which opened last month under its new name, The Quays.

Opening at the end of May is the 26th Premier Lodge, the Swan Inn at Upton Warren, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Greenalls currently hasjust over 900 bedrooms in its branded Premier Lodges, of which about a third arenew-build. Rack rates are £39.50 during the week and £32.50 at weekends.
