Matthew Christmas, 22, has won the Moët & Chandon Student of the Year award for excelling in all disciplines of his diploma course over the past year at Leith's School of Food and Wine.

Christmas, who has secured a job at one-Michelin-starred Chez Bruce in Wandsworth, London, demonstrated creativity, an ability to work under pressure and professionalism to secure his award.

He wins a three-day gastronomic trip to France as a guest of Moët & Chandon, plus a magnum of vintage Champagne. He is pictured above with Henny Frazer of Moât Hennessy UK and Caroline Waldegrave, principal of Leith's School of Food and Wine.
