PASSENGER PULL

TEN hotels around Manchester airport have joined forces to form a marketing association in a bid to win more business from the 13 million passengers who use the airport each year.

A key element will be a brochure with a print run of 50,000 to be distributed abroad through the British Tourist Authority. British Airways has also agreed to carry them in seat-back pockets on Manchester-bound international flights for a limited period.

The participating hotels are Alderley Edge, the Belfry, Etrop Grange, the Four Seasons, Manchester Airport Hilton, Pinewood Thistle, Shrigley Hall, Stanneylands, White House Manor and the Forte Crest.

WELSH LACA

WELSH local authority caterers this week gained their own representative body with the launch of a separate branch of the Local Authority Caterers Association (LACA).

LACA chairman Roger Davis said the new Welsh branch would be more suited to addressing issues affecting the principality, such as local government reorganisation.
