Caterer and Hotelkeeper – 6452
PLANS IN THE PIPELINE
lSPECIALIST contractor Dean & Bowes is fitting out two upmarket café-brasseries, to be called Bewleys, at either end of the Channel Tunnel, Folkestone and Calais.
lCheltenham-based chef Pat MacDonald is relocating his Epicurean restaurant from the On The Park hotel to a grade II-listed building in the town centre, where he also has plans for a brasserie.
lAlton Towers has commissioned consultancy McNeece to design its first on-site hotel. Primarily aimed at family visitors, the 175-bedroom, three-star property will also be targeting the conference market. It will include a 225-seat restaurant, two bars, conference facilities and an adjacent leisure centre. Its style will apparently be "quintessentially English", with the architects briefed to create "something amazing and magical". It is scheduled to open in 1995.
