RADISSON Hotels International, the US hotel group, is to link up with an Irish developer to build an £8m hotel and golf complex at Limavady, County Derry.
The project, the US group's first in the country, will create the North-west of Ireland's first four-star hotel. Work on the70-bedroom Radisson Roe Park Hotel begins this month and is expected to take about a year to complete.
The property is being developed by a new company called Roe Park Holdings, while the project director is golf and leisure specialist Invicta St James. Radisson will manage and market the resort.
About 40% of the funding for the project is being provided by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and the European Regional Development Fund. At least 80 new jobs are being created.

RESTAURANTS in Pinner, north London, have started a scheme to tackle the problem of customers who book a table then fail to turn up.
Friends restaurant and the Old Village Bakery restaurant have sent a circular of known offenders to the six other establishments in Pinner, and are considering extending the scheme to include the whole of Harrow.
Last Saturday the60-cover Friends restaurant lost an estimated £300 through no-shows, and about £2,500 over the course of last year.

CITY Centre Restaurants has opened its 100th Deep Pan Pizza Co restaurant at the Lee Valley Leisure Complex, Edmonton, north London.
The 126-seat outlet is part of a "rigorous opening plan" for 1994-95, a spokeswoman said.
