Royal visit for Lederer

Peter Lederer, managing director of the Gleneagles Hotel, visited Buckingham Palace earlier this month to receive the insignia of the OBE, awarded in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Mr Lederer, who received his award from the Prince of Wales, was being recognised not only for his 10 years at the helm of Gleneagles, but also for helping to spread the word for Scottish tourism generally.

He is chairman of Tourism Training Scotland, a founder member of the Connoisseurs Scotland consortium and is a member of the Secretary of State for Scotland's Scottish Advisory Council for Education and Training Targets.

He is pictured (right) at Buckingham Palace with his wife Marilyn.
