Chelsea Village fined
Chelsea Football Club's catering company has been fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £140 costs for allowing late-night dancing and drinking at the Stamford Bridge ground. Chelsea Village Catering admitted breaching its music and dancing licence at West London Magistrates' Court.
Spa expansion
The Leamington hotel in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, has bought the 32-bedroom Royal hotel, also in Leamington Spa. It is changing its name to the Town House Hotel and Garden Café.
too late the Fish cake
A London café had to pay £1,250 last week for serving a 60p fish cake in the early hours of the morning without a night café licence. Golden Kebabs, of Stoke Newington Road, had to pay £500 in fines with £750 costs after a prosecution was brought by Hackney council.
Grange suite
Work has been completed on a £1.5m conference and banqueting suite at Botleigh Grange hotel in Southampton. The Hampshire Millennium Suite has five conference rooms and can seat up to 450 diners.
Don't lose touch
Gleneagles hotel (below) in Scotland has launched a Web site for its past employees. The site, www.gleneagles-alumni.com, is intended to tell former staff of developments at the hotel and help them trace former colleagues.
