Catering Forum
The Catering Forum, MV Aurora, 11-14 June 2003
As the 2003 Catering Forum sails onto the horizon again Emma Rickwood, commercial director for the popular sandwich chain Benjys reviews her previous time on board this exciting annual event. which brings buyers and suppliers together.
"I've been on board twice now, and will be attending again. Although it's two days away from the office, the Catering Forum is time well spent, and because there are no distractions it's quality time, focused on the job in hand. We've definitely made changes to the Benjys' offering as a direct result of some of the suppliers we have met on board the Catering Forum.
"It's quite a tough agenda, and if delegates choose to attend seminars and workshops, you can find yourself working very hard. Last year I particularly enjoyed the sessions on branding and finance.
"I get the opportunity to meet not only suppliers, but also my own peer groups, and potential customers. I don't think there is any other event that offers such a high calibre and quality of attendees; everybody on board understands the commercial proposition of networking at this level."
The Catering Forum will be taking place on board the P&O flagship MV Aurora between 11-14 June. Now in it's 8th year the key to it's success is the Richmond Events computerised appointment system which schedules meetings between the 400 senior buyers from leading operating companies and executives from supplier companies. The system prepares individual itineraries for all participants matching business priorities with new business contacts.
Joining the delegates and suppliers setting sail from Southampton will be representatives from industry associations, organisations and the press.
