Charlton House lands £2m college contract
Contract caterer Charlton House has taken over the catering for the 2,500 students who attend Regents College in London. The contract turns over more than £2m a year.
Charlton House took over on 4 September from incumbent caterer Aramark, which had held the contract for the past eight years. It employs more than 40 staff at Regents College.
Hospitality accounts for almost a third of the catering budget, as the college runs many conferences, seminars and social events. As well as two dining rooms, there is an Internet café, student bar and up to 58 conference rooms.
Charlton House chief executive Robyn Jones said the company planned to introduce more front of house activity such as an open kitchen within the refectory.
Andrew Richman has joined Charlton House as divisional director. He was previously an operations executive with Directors Table, the executive dining arm of rival caterer Sodexho. His post is the second divisional directorship to be created at Charlton House within the last three months.
