Charmouth hotelier must stay away during trial

A seaside hotelier who has appeared in court on charges of setting fire to a neighbouring hotel will not be able to return to his property until the case has concluded.

Christopher Poole, 44, who runs the White House hotel in Charmouth, Dorset, denied arson.

It is alleged that he tried to burn down the Thatched Lodge hotel on 31 August last year.

He was released on bail on the condition that he does not return to Charmouth until the end of the court proceedings.

The trial is due to start at Dorchester Crown Court on 20 March.
