CHE sells again to repay debts

Troubled group CHE, formerly Friendly Hotels, is selling another of its properties.

The group has agreed to sell its 88-bedroom Comfort Inn Manchester to John Roebuck of First House Hotels for £1.5m.

In the year to 31 December 2001, the hotel produced an operating profit of £115,000 on a turnover of £810,000.

CHE said it would use the sale money to repay bank debt.

The Comfort Inn Manchester is the 12th hotel to be sold by the group since February 2001, earning a combined £22m.
