Chez Gérard chain opens restaurant number 21

London-based chain Groupe Chez Gérard has opened its 21st restaurant. The latest Chez Gérard is in Rosebery Avenue, Farringdon, central London, and seats 90.

Laurence Isaacson, co-founder and deputy chairman, said: "I used to be excited when I had one restaurant for every day of the week.

"Now I have one for every day of three weeks, and next I hope to have one for every day of the month."

Isaacson and his business partner, group chairman Neville Abraham, opened their first restaurant Le Café des Amis du Vin in London's Covent Garden in 1981. Four years later they set up Groupe Chez Gérard which operates the restaurants Bertorelli's, Scotts, Café Fish, Soho Soho and Livebait.
