City Inn plans more London new-builds

The four-strong City Inn hotel chain has revealed plans to open as many as three more new-build hotels in London in a bid to boost its portfolio from four to 11 properties by 2006.

"We'd be very keen to build two or three more hotels in London," said managing director David Orr. "From our point of view, it's important we keep investing in [London]."

Orr said that the hotels would be new-build properties in city centre locations and be similar in size to the 460-bedroom City Inn Westminster, which last month became the largest new-build property to open in London for 30 years.

He also confirmed that the company was looking at locations in major cities in western Europe and the USA.
