City waits for news of Pelican deal

RECENT burgeoning City interest in restaurant groups could be fuelled further today when Pelican Group releases its results for 1993/94.

Pelican has a habit of combining its results statement with the news of another acquisition and this year the bullish company is once again expected to announce the take-over of a rival restaurant group.

A potential deal for Pelican bandied around the market recently is the Café Flo chain in London, owned by Russel and Juliet Joffe.

However, Mr Joffe told Caterer earlier this week that while he was still talking with various City people about the future of Café Flo, there was no deal imminent and, if there was, Pelican would "probably be the last people I would sell to".
