cluster gm sheppard quits forte

Robin Sheppard, one of Forte's first cluster managers, has resigned to start his own restaurant business.
Sheppard was formerly general manager at the Bath Spa Hotel, which won the Caterer & Hotelkeeper Hotel of the Year Award in 1994. Last year he was promoted to regional general manager of the three Forte hotels in the Bath region when Granada took the controversial step of scrapping the grade of general manager.
Sheppard is to leave in March.
