Compass wins three big French contracts
Compass Group has won three major catering contracts in France, totalling more than €22.4m (£13.7m) in annual turnover.
The contracts are with shuttle operator Eurotunnel, insurance firm Mutuelles du Mans and the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The contract with Eurotunnel has been renewed from 1 January. The five-year contract turns over €15.3m (£9.4m) a year, and has been extended to include catering and vending for Eurotunnel employees in the UK.
The company will continue to operate the shuttle's food service for lorry drivers as well as club-class car drivers in France and the UK. Compass will also be responsible for the Ashford truck stop for lorry drivers.
At Mutuelles du Mans, Compass subsidiary Eurest has been chosen by the company's works council to provide catering and restaurant services at the firm's head office in Le Mans. This new contract is expected to generate €3.7m (£2.2m) in annual turnover.
The contract will include the creation of a new company restaurant serving 650 meals a day. Eurest will also provide a catering service for hospitality events.
Eurest has also won a new contract to run the catering services at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
This five-year contract is expected to turn over €3.4m (£2.1m) a year.
