CONFERENCES AT THE SIX BELLS
A PUB with conference facilities is proprietor Don Hall's latest scheme to boost revenue. His country pub, the Six Bells outside Barry, South Glamorgan, a stone's throw from Cardiff airport, is undergoing a £250,000 refurbishment and extension, due to open on 26 July.
Hall bought the lease from Bass and recruited David Richard, chef from Pennyhill Park in Bag shot, Surrey.
The conference area will be able to seat over a 100 "cinema-style" and up to 70 for banqueting. Hall will provide flip charts and overhead projectors.
London and Cardiff-based architects G Latter Associates are overseeing the design of the conference area. Hall says: "I will try to give what the hotels offer, but more cheaply."
