Consultant expands into food service

Concept Management (Catering) Services, a contract catering consultancy firm, is expanding its business into managed food service contracts.

The Sussex-based business will be focusing on business and industry and education sectors within Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Kent and south London. It is seeking its first long-term managed contract.

Brian Crux, managing director, said he would differentiate his business from big contract caterers by offering a personalised service that didn't follow set formulas. Crux added that he would offer better value for money by passing on the cost savings from lower operational overheads.

"A lot of clients want to deal more directly with the decision-maker," said Crux. "We will be working with them and we plan to offer a high level of personal service and a pro-active approach.

"We will tune in to what our clients want and work more creatively to achieve that," he added.

As well as targeting business and industry and independent schools, Crux hopes to win contracts in the leisure sector, particularly at golf and country clubs.

Crux has worked in the industry for 25 years, including a spell as operation's director for government services at Compass Group.
